Aline Van Driessche began her academic journey in architecture, earning degrees in Engineering, Urban Design, and later Artificial Intelligence at KU Leuven. She then pursued an MSc in Sustainable Emergency Architecture at UIC Barcelona, where she explored AI-driven post-earthquake damage assessment. Moving into industry, she joined the startup Genvision, developing AI models to measure forest carbon storage using remote sensing. Now funded by UKRI, she has recently begun her PhD on data-driven modelling of climate-induced human mobility in the Sahel region.
